Perazolo The IT Infrastructure Libraryt defines a set of best practices to align information technology (IT) services to business needs and constitutes the framework for IT service management (ITSM). This framework helps organizations manage their IT services using standard design patterns and the requisite customization. In this paper, we discuss critical contributions that autonomic computing offers to the definition and implementation of an ITSM architecture and infrastructure. We first introduce key architectural patterns and specifications of autonomic computing as they relate to an ITSM logical architecture. We then show how autonomic computing delivers value through a set of ITSM-based case studies that address problem determination, impact assessment, and solution deployment.

متن کاملAutonomic Computing for Business Applications
Autonomic computing, a new deployment technology introduced by IBM a decade ago, to manage the ever increasing complexity of IT systems, has become a part of many large scale deployments today. A lot of inroads have been made by autonomic computing in the areas of networking, data centers, storage, and database management. But few attempts have been exercised in business applications such as ER...

Cloud Computing, the long-held dream of computing as a utility, has the potential to transform a large part of the IT industry, making software even more attractive as a service and shaping the way IT hardware is designed and purchased. Virtualization technology forms a key concept for new cloud computing architectures. The data centers are used to provide cloud services burdening a significant...
متن کاملSemantic Self-Management and Mediation for Home Service Platforms
Service-oriented computing has long outgrown the enterprise. Today, personal living environments feature an increasing number of convenience-, healthand securityrelated applications provided by distributed interacting devices and services (often called smart homes), which do not only support users but require management tasks such as application installation, configuration and continuous mainte...
متن کاملMultilevel and Coordinated Self-management in Autonomic Systems based on Service Bus
Modern dynamic distributed systems require to dynamically take into account at runtime the changes in users’ needs and the execution environment variations in order to improve the quality of service. The evolution of distributed systems, through the smart management of their properties and the extension of the existing integration infrastructures, becomes a necessity. Autonomic computing allows...
